Easiest mental reset, always.
Last week was heavy.
Not dramatic. Nothing “happened.” Just one of those relentless, 12-hour-a-day weeks where everything (and everyone) asks something of you and you don’t quite have enough to give back.
On Thursday evening around 8:30pm, I shut my laptop and just walked out of the house. I didn’t change my ‘work clothes’ and neither did I plan this walk. I just needed a change of scenery stat that wasn’t another screen, another conversation, another room where I’d already spent the whole day.
I am truly grateful to live in a part of Dubai where I can find peace and quiet within seconds of exiting the main door and these long, solo walks are a regular feature to catch up to my 10,000 steps anyway.
But last week, it was less about hitting any physical goals but more for me to allow my mental getaway. Because, even with a great support system (and I know I have one), there are moments where you realise this bit is still yours to carry.
Not in a sad way. Just a factual one. No one can fully step into your head, your body, your energy levels or the weight of a particular week. So I walked. Cleared my head as much as it would allow. Went home. Did the same thing again the next night.
There’s no lesson here. No silver lining. No tidy takeaway.
Some weeks don’t ask for growth.
They just ask to be survived.
Now I hope you have the opposite of that week starting today :)
