The best life has to offer: good coffee and better writing.

Yay. The Eid Al Adha long weekend is here. Depending on how benevolent your work situation is, it means either a six or a NINE-day break for you. Dayum.

I don’t celebrate the festival (RIP goats) but I am thankful for the forced yet needed long pause we have ahead of us. I know plenty of people who are travelling or staycationing (definitely should be a Dubai verb) and yet, the first thing I started doing last Friday onwards was build my ‘Eid To-do List’ on OneNote. Shook my head then and shaking my head now.

I know I often preach too much and too hard about life but, on this front, I am still waiting to absolve myself of the ‘guilt’ of having an actual six-day break without a work agenda, drive to get something done or the innate need to feel ‘accomplished.’

The ‘I’ in Type A should have some R-E-S-T, too.

So, today’s dastardly short (and late!) Monday Memo is for me to know and accept that as much as I love doing what I do (you can eye-roll here, but building nuja truly makes me happy), the F in founder needs a bit of the f-u-n too.

Lists will still be worked on. But so will midday naps, couch potato-ing, and not checking my calendar to know my next move. Because stillness, my friend, is not because of the absence of movement; it is despite all of it.

A small thing I loved this week: no structure or theme, just sharing some favourites.

Books: Most of this break I know will be spent finishing There Are Rivers In The Sky. A literary masterpiece. A sensorial feast. And a common thread across centuries gently tugging at your soul.
